About the Role

This is a critical compliance leadership role focused on ensuring the integrity of import/export operations across North America. Based in Charlotte, NC (with hybrid flexibility), the Trade Compliance Manager will drive the company’s trade compliance framework, leading efforts in HTS classification, duty strategy, internal audits, and broker oversight. You’ll collaborate closely with global trade counterparts and senior leadership, with the opportunity to shape regional and global compliance practices. Relocation support is available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead import/export compliance across North American operations
• Develop and maintain SOPs, training content, and trade control policies
• Manage relationships with customs brokers and freight forwarders
• Oversee HTS classification, duty drawback programs, and FTA utilization
• Conduct internal audits and implement corrective actions to minimize risk
• Deliver trade compliance training across business functions
• Monitor evolving global trade regulations and ensure company readiness
• Align with global trade teams to support unified compliance initiatives

Ideal Candidate

• Active U.S. Customs Broker License (required)
• 5–7+ years in international trade compliance, ideally within manufacturing
• In-depth knowledge of U.S. import/export regulations and HTS classification
• Familiar with NAFTA/USMCA, BIS regulations, CBP compliance, and duty strategy
• Experience with SAP S/4 Hana, GTS, or equivalent ERP/compliance systems
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence across departments
• Based in or open to relocating to Charlotte, NC (relocation assistance available)
