Technical Project Manager, Engineering:

Description

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager (TPM) to support the execution of our engineering operations. This individual will partner with engineering, product, design, and operations teams to ensure requirements are properly scoped and communicated, schedules are tracked and managed, and deliverables are built to spec. The TPM will be instrumental in identifying and resolving operational inefficiencies, promoting cross-team alignment, and driving accountability across the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Planning:

  • Drive to ensure all engineering work is scoped, resourced, and scheduled before development begins.
  • Build and manage engineering project plans tracking towards program milestones, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Ensure that requirements received from Product and Design teams are clearly communicated, documented, and tracked.
  • Track engineer assignments across all projects and work with engineering leads to ensure resource allocation is sustainable and transparent.

Execution:

  • Drive engineering alignment on timing, dependencies, and requirements throughout project lifecycles.
  • Drive day-to-day planning and execution of engineering projects across front-end and back-end teams.
  • Facilitate structured handoffs between product, design, engineering, and QA.
  • Lead recurring status meetings, track action items, and follow up on commitments.

Communication:

  • Manage blockers, changes, project risks throughout the project, and ensure stakeholders across and up are clearly informed.
  • Experience to resolve conflicts, remove blockers, and influence cross-functional and communications across global teams
  • Provide visibility and communications to leadership about resource constraints, staffing needs, and delivery risks.
  • Report and share-out status updates with executive, peers and all stakeholders on a regular cadence.

Process Improvements:

  • Implement processes for change management so that any changes to requirements or implementation are reviewed and approved cross-functionally.

Qualifications:

Required

  • 5+ years of experience in technical project management or program management in a software development environment.
  • Software engineering experience - AWS experience and/or client development experience (C++, Java, Python, OpenGL, Direct3D/DirectX, Vulkan) Bachelors/Masters/PhD in CS or Comp preferred
  • Proven track record of driving complex, multi-disciplinary projects to successful completion.
  • Strong understanding of both front-end and back-end development workflows.
  • Experience managing projects across distributed or multi-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Trello, or similar)

Preferred

  • Experience in gaming, media, or connected TV platforms.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and Kanban development methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts, remove blockers, and influence cross-functional teams.
  • The ability to manage chaos, ambiguity and complexity, in a detailed, organized way.
  • Ability to have challenging conversations at all seniority levels.
  • Ability to negotiate with multiple stakeholders, be able to defend work, and also know when to accept direction.
  • Ability to navigate heavily matrixed organizations and thrive within a fast-paced environment.

Compensation for this role, for candidates based in New York, NY is expected to be between $135,000 ~ $160,000. Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
