Job Description:
- The Sr. Trade Analyst will be responsible for ensuring the company's imports/exports are declared and shipped in compliance with global trade regulations and company Compliance (GTC) standards.
- This may include activities before shipment, such as transactional entry activities aligned with Customs, Health Authorities, export agency licenses/permits (for example, "Dual-Use", CITES), and other government agency requirements.
- The position will also interact with Logistics, Transportation, Clinical Country Operations globally, and outside 3rd party vendors/shippers.
- Key challenges will include influencing all constituents and stakeholders to follow trade policy and procedures and solving shipment-specific issues when they arise.
Responsibilities:
- Provide US and global support to deploy the company's Compliance strategic goals and objectives aligned closely with business objectives.
- Monitor US and/or Global imports or exports that contain products that require additional licenses/permits, including those performed by our 3rd-party suppliers and vendors.
- Review shipment request information and shipping documents to ensure compliance with GTC global standards and local import Standard Business Practices.
- Ensure all trade attributes required by Customs, Health Authorities, export agency licenses/permits (for example, "Dual-Use", CITES), or other applicable government agencies are completed in our Global Trade Management system to ensure compliant import broker clearance instructions or export declarations.
- Work with the GTC COE group to obtain HTS classifications and FDA Product Code assignments when needed.
- Work within our Trade Operations Standard Business Practices and align with policy set by Global Trade Compliance.
- Influence external stakeholders to comply with Standard Business Practices developed by the company's Trade Operations.
- Support U.S. and potentially global shipping sites with import or export transaction challenges.
- Contribute to special projects and assignments related to international trade as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher preferred
- Trade-related certificate or Customs Broker License desirable
- 5-7 years of logistics experience in the pharmaceutical industry, of which a minimum of 5 years of functional expertise with international trade
- Knowledge of Customs and other government agency import or export regulations and related experience.
- Prior experience interfacing with international companies, 3rd party suppliers, and vendors, including logistics carriers.
- Prior hands-on experience using Microsoft products (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word).
- Prior experience with global trade management systems like SAP GTS, Integration Point, or similar databases is desirable.
- Proficient in English
- Good project management skills and strong written and spoken communication skills are desirable.
- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Sustained high level of performance while quickly processing high volumes of work
