Employment Type: Full-Time (Monday to Friday)

Salary: Based on education and experience

Join Green Tree School & Services (GTS), an Approved Private School (APS) providing specialized, full-time out-of-district placements for students with emotional and autism support needs. Your Role as a School Psychologist:

  • Assessment & Intervention – Conduct cognitive, academic, social, emotional, and behavioral evaluations, lead feedback sessions, and contribute to IEP development with meaningful recommendations and student-centered goals.
  • Counseling & Crisis Support – Provide individual and group counseling, conduct risk assessments, and support students through crisis intervention and re-entry planning.
  • Collaboration & Consultation – Partner with educators, parents, and outside agencies through IEP meetings, Child Study Teams, and multidisciplinary collaboration to support holistic student success.
  • Data-Based Decision Making – Use school and student-level data to inform intervention planning, monitor progress, and support a modified MTSS framework as part of the TIERS committee.
  • Admissions & Intake – Conduct intake interviews with students and families to support appropriate placement and service planning.
  • Professional Development – Participate in ongoing training, receive weekly supervision from certified school psychologists, and stay current on best practices in education and psychology.
  • School-Wide SEL Support – Guide classroom-based social emotional learning (SEL) and provide training to staff on strategies that enhance student development.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education & Eligibility – Enrolled in a graduate program in school psychology and eligible for internship; preference given to candidates from NASP-approved programs.
  • Experience – Minimum of two years in school settings providing assessment, counseling, and/or consultation services; experience in urban schools and culturally responsive practices preferred.
  • Regulatory Knowledge – Familiar with federal, state, and local regulations in educational settings, including special education compliance.
  • Intervention Expertise – Knowledge of behavior change strategies and evidence-based interventions for students with disabilities.
  • Technical Proficiency – Comfortable using Microsoft Office and educational software; experience with computer scoring systems and IEP platforms is preferred.
  • Collaboration & Communication – Builds positive relationships with students, staff, families, and external partners; demonstrates ethical practice and cultural competence.
