Job Description

The Millwright is responsible for assembling, installing, maintaining, troubleshooting & repairing products accurately and efficiently according to specifications, drawings, and production standards. This hands-on role ensures that tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and according to quality standards. The Millwright will support the Shop Manager by coordinating activities, providing technical guidance, and helping maintain an organized and productive work environment. The Millwright must be able to travel domestically and abroad to various customer locations.

Applicants possessing prior experience in welding and fabrication and/or control wiring will be considered favorably during the selection process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical or electronic components and products using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment as required.
  • Assemble, install, align, and secure heavy machinery and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical components such as pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, shafts, and motors.
  • Follow detailed assembly instructions, processes, and procedures.
  • Perform quality checks on completed assemblies to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical instructions.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production deadlines and solve assembly challenges.
  • Track and report completed work and material usage.
  • Notify supervisors of any assembly issues or deviations from specification.
  • Assist in inventory management, part retrieval, and packaging of final products.
  • Travel to customer locations to install and commission equipment.
  • Support general shop duties and cross-functional production tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • Technical school certification preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a millwright or industrial mechanic.
  • Proficient in using hand and power tools, measuring instruments, and rigging equipment.
  • Familiar with welding and fabrication (preferred).
  • Control wiring experience is a strong asset.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in physically demanding environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety procedures and PPE.
