Job Title: Mammography Technologist (Contract)
Location: Hackensack, NJ
Contract Length: 23 weeks
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (40 hours/week)
Weekend Requirement: Rotating weekends every couple of months
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Mammography Technologist for a full-time contract assignment. The technologist will be responsible for performing diagnostic and screening mammograms in accordance with ACR, MQSA, and state/federal regulations. The role also includes assisting in a variety of breast imaging procedures and contributing to quality control and patient education efforts.
Responsibilities:Perform diagnostic and screening mammographic examinations on adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients.
Assist with breast ultrasound, stereotactic biopsies, needle localization, and other image-guided procedures.
Handle setup and cleanup for procedures including imaging and instrumentation.
Prepare and operate imaging equipment, ensuring optimal technical factors for each patient.
Identify and label patient images correctly, including proper orientation and documentation.
Process exposed films and complete all imaging-related documentation accurately.
Assist in quality control procedures (phantom imaging, darkroom fog tests, screen cleanliness, etc.).
Educate patients regarding procedures, including breast self-exam instruction and follow-up guidance.
Maintain and document compliance with ACR, MQSA, FDA, and state regulatory requirements.
Participate in tracking, reporting, and follow-up efforts related to imaging and biopsies.
Communicate effectively with patients and caregivers, taking into account cultural, developmental, and physical needs.
Required Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Mammography Technologist.
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology.
Licensure/Certifications:
ARRT certification required.
Active Diagnostic Radiography License .
Mammography certification (must be obtained within 3 months of hire if not already held).
