Hire Type : Direct Hire

Salary : $50K–$53K/year

Sterling Engineering is looking for an Inventory Specialist in Bolingbrook, IL to support a customer-focused inventory program for a leading distributor. This is a mobile, customer-facing role requiring regular travel to client sites to deliver and maintain inventory. A company vehicle will be provided.

Job Dutie s:

  • Monitor and replenish inventory at customer locations to maintain defined stocking levels.
  • Recommend inventory level changes based on usage trends.
  • Identify opportunities to introduce new products into the VMI program.
  • Use a handheld scanner to generate orders and track inventory data.
  • Collect required inventory at the Bolingbrook office and deliver to client sites.
  • Travel 50–75% of the time, up to 2 hours one way, using a company-provided car.
  • Take and relay spot orders to inside/outside sales teams.
  • Set up product placement at customer sites and assist with inventory space management.
  • Maintain correct labeling on product bins and ensure accuracy of shipments.
  • Communicate regularly with sales, management, and customers regarding orders and projects.
  • Address on-site inquiries, troubleshoot inventory issues, and suggest product improvements.
  • Assemble hose products when needed and follow customer safety and delivery protocols.
  • Maintain professional appearance and provide top-tier customer service.
  • Follow all company driving policies and maintain the company vehicle.

Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or GED; one to three months related experience or equivalent
  • Mechanical/technical knowledge required
  • Understanding of fluid connector products; ability to identify fitting thread types
  • Knowledge of warehouse processes and inventory control
  • Ability to read purchase orders and packing lists
  • Commitment to excellent customer service
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good time management and basic computer/data entry skills
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to pass MVR driving check
  • Parker-Hannifin product knowledge a plus
