Title -Fabrication Manager - Stone Industry

Location -Queens,NY

Job Summary

The Shop Manager position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of running our stone fabrication shop and overseeing and delegating tasks to our fabrication crew.

Knowledge

Production and Processing - Knowledge of stone material, fabrication processes, quality control, and production costs.

Supervision - Ability to supervise activities of employees to ensure optimal productivity.

Customer Service - Provide professional customer service with high profile clientele.

Education and Training - Knowledge of and participation in relevant safety training required for the industry (Site Safety Card, OSHA, Forklift Training, etc.)

English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words and rules of composition.

Mechanical - Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

Primary Job Duties

• Direct and supervise fabrication in the shop.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of stone products.
• Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate shop employees; oversee day-to-day operations, including addressing employee disputes, questions, and concerns.
• Prepare and maintain a fabrication schedule that satisfies customer and management timelines in an efficient manner.
• Maintain a safe workplace according to legal standards and ensure all shop employees adhere to safety standards.
• Supervise and maintain inventory of products.
• Work in coordination with other departments including project managers, purchasing, estimating, and accounting.
• Oversee the preventative maintenance of all operating equipment in the shop and coordinating equipment maintenance.
• Attending biweekly meetings with executive staff in the office; attending daily morning meetings with management staff.
• Meet with high profile clientele and maintain a professional and courteous demeanor.
• Ensure shop employee labor reports are completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner.
