Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Concrete Repair Technician with expertise in both concrete and masonry repair to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will excel in repairing and restoring concrete structures while also performing masonry tasks such as bricklaying, tuckpointing, and stone restoration. This role involves working on diverse construction projects, including residential, commercial, and industrial sites, to ensure structural integrity and aesthetic quality. Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect concrete and masonry structures to identify damage, deterioration, or defects.
  • Perform repairs on concrete surfaces, including patching cracks, spalls, and holes.
  • Apply sealants, coatings, and protective treatments to concrete and masonry surfaces.
  • Demolish and remove damaged concrete or masonry as needed.
  • Pour, finish, and cure new concrete installations to meet project specifications.
  • Repair or replace bricks, blocks, or stone in masonry structures.
  • Conduct tuckpointing and repointing of mortar joints to restore masonry integrity.
  • Clean and restore masonry surfaces using appropriate methods and materials.
  • Install anchors, ties, or other structural supports in concrete and masonry.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other tradespeople to achieve project goals.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience as a Concrete Repair Technician or similar role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in masonry repair, including bricklaying, stonework, or blockwork.
  • Proficiency in using tools and equipment for concrete and masonry work, such as trowels, hammers, levels, and power tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of concrete and masonry materials, techniques, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for concrete and masonry repair.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and protocols, with OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.
  • Physical stamina to work in various weather conditions and at heights.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with the capacity to work independently and collaboratively.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in construction or a related field is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in concrete repair and restoration.
  • Demonstrated experience in masonry repair is required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy materials, up to 50 pounds.
  • Capability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in various weather conditions.
  • Must be able to stand, bend, kneel, and climb ladders or scaffolding for extended periods.

Work Environment

  • Work will be performed on various job sites, including residential, commercial, and industrial locations.
  • Exposure to outdoor elements, dust, noise, and potentially hazardous materials.
  • May require travel to different project sites within the region.
