The Architectural Drafter position at the Hitzfield Group is an associate-level position on the construction side of our business. Reporting directly to the Director of Design & Engineering, the primary responsibility of the drafter is to support the project managers and quality assurance manager with preparation of drawings and material take-offs of our construction projects. Tasks to fulfill these requirements may include, but are not limited to:
· Develop, submit and revise 2D shop drawings including key plan, elevations and details for jobs as well as product application.
· Prepare material cutting list.
· Obtain materials sizes and incorporate them into shop drawings to meet plans, specification and manufacturers’ standards.
· Attend engineering reviews of plans/specs.
· Work with third party design/engineering professionals to develop complete project details.
· Continue your education to develop personally and build a knowledge base of the various materials and systems we install.
· Attend company meetings as required.
· Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Graduated with a two or four-year degree in Drafting or Construction Management or related field. Has relevant experience working in the construction industry. Other skill sets for this position include:
· Knowledge of drafting principals
· Software program knowledge including: Auto-CAD 2012 or higher, and Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks or similar modeling software
· Manual and computer-assisted technical drawing
· Skilled in free hand and mechanical drawings
· Excellent communication skills and organizational skills
· Strong interpersonal skills and able to work in a team environment
· Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and e-mail tools
· Knowledge of rainscreen systems and related façade materials
